Sometimes it's more what we don't do than what we do do.
If I cannot afford to go out and buy a bunch of stuff to convert my life to total solar living, at least I can cut back on my energy useage by putting timers on appliances and using power strips for the coffee maker, toaster, microwave and all those other items that have instant on features. when I started doing that, I noticed a drop on my electric bill by just over $4.00 per month.
The lights I leave on while I'm gone, for security purposes and to see when I come in are all low wattage compact fluorescents which as you know use very little electricity.
These thiings are not going to change our economy or recreate civilization into a new and better pathway, but they are a conscious choice.
I chose not to buy new cars, phones, TVs, or computers, just because the newer models do more interesting stuff. What I have works. I am grateful for it. I have proven I can even live fine with no TV at all. If it's broke, fix it. If it's not broken, then be grateful to have it and use it wisely and if it does break, replace it only with a moderate replacement.
Moderation is a very key factor to it all.
"The meek shall inherit the earth" is what we are told by Yeshua.
The word meek now means something different than it did 2000 years ago. (Or it's Aramaic equivalent)
Meek meant moderation, not belly-up weakness.
I choose to be moderate in my walk.
It is really more enjoyable that way. You can see more along the way.
Be Blessed
